Cards I have designed and made, March 2008

Thanks so much to the piece of human rubbish who left a spam comment on my blog. I had to delete and redo all these pictures. I have now changed my settings so that low life scum cannot do this to me again.

Happy new year :0)

Another year gone. Time passes so quickly.

2007 was a mixed year for me. My health gave me real problems with continuous MS attacks and it was very difficult.

It did teach me something though - If you are capable of doing something today, then do it because tomorrow you may not be well enough to. ;0)

Since I have had my eyesight back I have been busy making teddy bears and doing cross stitch. These are my true passions and I am so glad I can do them again. I am grateful for every day I am well enough to work.

I start some new medication today. I had been off meds for most of the last year because my body became intolerant of a daily injection I had been on for nearly 5 years. Once I could no longer take that, the MS attacks were pretty consistent.

The drug I start today is a similar to one I was on 8 years ago and for the 2 years I was on it I remained relapse free, so, heres hoping this will happen again. I have faith that it will.

Catching up

I have a beautiful grandaughter. She is now 16 days old. I have been too busy to post much, but, I need to catch up with what I have been up to and mostly (between cross stitching and bear making and folding and delivering junk mail) I have been spending time with my beautiful daughter and her very beautiful brand new baby girl. :0)

Jasmine Ann was born on December 13th at 5:20pm, weighing 6 pounds 10 ounces and measuring 55cm long. She is just gorgeous.

I have almost finished stitching the birth sampler. I do not have any more recent photos of it, but, I will get around to photographing it soon.

The photo of Jasmie Ann was taken by me, yesterday. Isn't she just gorgeous?

I designed and started stitching a new bear last night. It is a friends birthday a week from now and I am going to be giving it to her as a gift.

It is such fun doing bears again and I am really enjoying sculpting around the eyes and nose of my latest bear. It adds real depth of character to their faces.

My first grand child is due to be born any day now and I am going to make her a bear when she is born. Well, we have been told she is a girl, but, that was from an ultrasound at 18 weeks, so, I am going to wait to see if it is definitely a girl before I start on a teddy bear for her..............

Of course, I have bought heaps of pink clothes for the new baby, so, if by chance it is a boy, well, I guess I will be selling lots of brand new, pink baby clothes on Ebay. lol lol

I love making bears

It is so good to be making bears again. The enforced break I had (thanks to a couple of bad Multiple Sclerosis attacks) has actually done me good and I have come back with many new ideas and I think my bears are looking good.

I have sold four bears in the past couple of weeks and I am very pleased.

I am currently working on a cross stitch birth sampler for my daughters new baby. The baby is due on December 7th and I am trying as best I can to have it stitched in time. I will leave the birth details blank and stitch them in once the baby is born.

I am so enjoying the bear making though. Between the bears, cross stitching, working at my delivery job and spending time at hospital appointments, I do not have a lot of time up my sleeve, but, it is all good.

As long as I can design and make bears and cross stitch, I am happy. :0)

That was rather nasty....

I currently have 3 bears on Ebay, up for auction and yesterday I received an email from someone stating that a bear they were interested in bidding on looked "strange" and was it the photograph that caused it.

I replied politely that any photos of my bears on Ebay are exactly how they look in real life and that if she thinks it looks strange, then, I would prefer it if she did not bid on it.

Today, she sent me a very nasty email telling me that I am an upstart and the reason I have no bids on my bears is because they look "strange"......

Gee, and I thought it was because artist bears are not as popular as they used to be. Silly me. lol lol

Seriously, 3 days ago there were 144 artist bears on Ebay Australia. 18 of them had bids. Only 18. I take that as a sign that if I get even one bid, then I am doing well. :0)

My bears were very popular a few years ago. I could put one on Ebay and it would get bid up to as much as $250USD (which at that time was equal to $500 Australian dollars).

That was then. This is now. My name is not known like it used to be. Because of events in my personal life (my own ill health and looking after my dying parents), I was unable to make many bears.

I am still unwell, with Multiple Sclerosis, but, I am now well enough to make bears again and I plan to continue doing that, regardless of nasty comments from people with bad feedback.

In fact, that bit of nastiness that I was sent this morning only makes me more determined to succeed or at least do my very best in whatever I attempt.

So thank you, to the person who took great pleasure out of being nasty to me. Your mean comments have helped to make me more determined. :0)
